Company Registration Process in Japan


Step 1

Making of seal – This process will take approximately three days, and it will cost you around 20,000 yen. Afterward, you can get a copy of the registry and a registration certificate of the company’s seal. Now, you can open a bank account under your company’s name.

Step 2

After you obtain a copy of the registry and a registration certificate of the company’s seal, you must submit a copy of the certificate of seal registration to the Ministry of Justice. It will cost you around 400 yen and will take one day.

Step 3

In this step, you are going to register with the Legal Affairs Bureau. This will cost you around 60,000 yen and will take around one to three days.

Step 4

This step includes notifying the tax office of incorporating the company, opening a payroll office, and obtaining the approval of blue tax returns. This can be done in one day.

Step 5

After notifying the tax office of the company’s incorporation, you must notify the tax office of the commencement of business. This also can be done within a day.

Step 6

This step includes submitting employment regulation and labor insurance notification to the Labor Standards Supervisory Office. This can be done within a day.

Step 7

Now, you must apply for health insurance and public welfare pension in Social Insurance Office. It will not take more than a day.

Step 8

Finally, you must apply for employment insurance and accident compensation at Public Employment Security Office, which will take no more than a day.

This completes the company registration process in Japan. New Japanese Corporate Law makes the company registration process easier in Japan than before.
